Caviar GiftsWritten by Rebecca Russell There are times when finding the perfect gift for a friend or loved one seems like the most difficult task in the world. Depending upon how long the recipient has been in your life, you may feel as though you have exhausted every original gift idea. As anyone will tell you, it is the thought that counts but it can certainly be frustrating when it seems that you have run out of interesting and exciting thoughts. One suggestion for an interesting gift idea is putting together a basket of gourmet foods. If your loved one is a fan of caviar, there are all kinds of interesting varieties and accessories. While caviar has the reputation of being expensive, for good reason, there are some wonderful and affordable caviars that can be just as delicious as the more costly varieties. Caviar Gift BasketsA caviar gift basket can vary greatly depending upon your loved ones tastes and your budget. If the sky is the limit, a great suggestion is to purchase a few of the Russian caviars--the Osetra, or the famed Beluga. You will not need more than an ounce or two of each variety to make a lovely foundation for your gift basket. Perhaps, for variety, you may choose to add in some salmon caviar, which has an entirely different taste and texture from sturgeon caviar. Finish the basket off with a lovely caviar spoon and a bottle of good vodka. If you have a much tighter budget, look into the American varieties of caviar. The Hackleback Sturgeon is a great alternative to the Russian Osetra, and is generally less than half the price. Add in some more interesting varieties, like trout caviar or wasabi caviar, and round it out with some fancy bread for toasting and crème fraiche. Both original baskets will put a smile on your loved one’s face and you will have successfully made it through another year of gift giving.
