Sea Shell Serving DishesWritten by Rebecca Russell Wedding gifts are a lovely tradition. They are a blessing, from each guest, to the bride to the groom that they may live long and happy lives together. They also help to outfit each couple with the essentials for starting out in life, such as sheets, towels, pots and pans. These days, many people wait much longer to be married than was traditional in years past. Couples often live together for years before they marry, setting up house and purchasing things for their lives together. Therefore, it becomes slightly more difficult to choose interesting and appropriate wedding gifts. Non-Traditional Wedding GiftsFor the couple that loves gourmet food, one interesting idea is to give the gift of an elegant caviar server. Many servers come in sterling silver, with glass inserts to protect the caviar, and can be engraved with the couple’s initials. Many also come in sea shell shapes, which have a convenient top-half that can be closed to keep the caviar fresh. Some caviar servers also include serving dishes and spoons made of mother of pearl. Mother of pearl is the traditional material upon which caviar should be served. Unlike metal, it will not transfer any outside taste to the delicate caviar which is ideal, especially if you know that the couple enjoys investing in a high end variety.
