Coffee BeaneryWritten by Sarah Provost The Coffee Beanery was one of the earliest specialty coffee franchises, founded in 1976. They now have over 200 locations in the United States and seven other countries. Corporate headquarters are located in Michigan, and the same facility serves to roast, package, store, and distribute their beans. The company strives to maintain a family environment, and lists friendliness and respect for customers and employees alike in their mission statement. Area franchising rights allow for ownership of a single unit, while at the same time developing and supervising new franchises within the area. The area franchiser would offer training and ongoing support to new franchisees, and would also share in their profits. Area franchising rights are awarded only when circumstances seem especially appropriate. Finally, the master franchise program gives the right to develop Coffee Beanery stores in other countries. The Coffee Beanery is committed to providing excellent support for their franchisees, with help in store design, sales, payroll, and supplies. They also have a message board to share news and ideas, and a toll-free number for immediate help.
