Westerners are now catching on to the many health benefits associated with green teas, and as a result more and more people are looking to buy green tea for daily consumption. Asian nations have been drinking green tea for centuries, and curiously enough, they have much lower incidences of cancer and heart disease than Americans do. You have numerous options when it comes to buying green tea, but some are certainly better than others. Keep in mind that cheaper teas often come with a price, meaning that they do not contain all the preventative health properties that the more expensive green teas offer.

If you want to reap the rewards of drinking good green tea that is rich in antioxidants, you must realize that the local grocery store is not the place to go. If you really want to buy green tea that is top of the line, than you must look in other places, such as specialty tea shops, health food stores, and even online vendors. When you walk into a health food store, compare the labels of all the green teas on display to determine the origin of the green tea.

Your best bet is to stick to green teas made in Japan, from the first or second harvest. Teas from Japan's first two harvests tend to be of much higher quality, and they are loaded with the antioxidants that have been proven to fight disease. There are certainly green teas that come from India, China, and Brazil, but they are typically not as good as the green teas cultivated in Japan.

The Japanese have certainly been ahead of the game in terms of their choice of teas. In fact, many Asian nations are healthier all around because of their green tea consumption, which leaves them with lower rates of cancer, heart disease, high blood pressure, and arthritis. Patients with Alzheimer's disease can also experience memory improvement when they drink green tea or take enriched green tea supplements on a daily basis.
