Airsoft Electric Rifles

Airsoft has finally made it through to the world at large. Airsoft has been incredibly popular in Japan, Taiwan, and other parts of Asia for many years but has only experienced real success in the West, and particularly in the United States, within the last few years. Airsoft gun manufacturers in Japan and Taiwan are still leading the pack in the production of realistic, functional, and customizable weapons--especially where AEGs are concerned.

There are many open debates in the greater Airsoft community as to which manufacturers make the best automatic electric guns. For several years, the Japanese company Tokyo-Marui was the undisputed king, but in recent years, companies like ICS (also in Japan) and Classic Army (based in Hong Kong) have been presenting a formidable challenge. If these companies keep up the pressure, it may become very difficult to pick a clear winner in the AEG category.

The market for AEGs is so hot within the Airsoft community that almost every manufacturer makes at least one or two models. There are replicas of AK-47s, MP5s, M-16s, Uzi sub-machine guns, and many more. Every company's attention to realistic detail and skill at manufacturing reliable Airsoft weapons is different. So just because you see several MP5 replicas for sale that does not mean that you can base your decision solely on price.

Choosing between Several AEGs

Your first guides will be the reputations of the manufacturers themselves and how well they warranty their products. Next, you should read some reviews of the specific guns in Airsoft community forums and publications. Once you have an idea of which guns you like best, you can consider the availability of replacement and upgrade parts. (You will eventually need to replace parts, or you will start to feel the need to upgrade.) After you take all these factors into consideration, you can start thinking price.
