Classic Board Games

Classic board games prove that some of the best games around today are also some of the oldest. When a board game company stumbles upon a winner, it's like a gold mine. Some companies have held onto and continued to produce games since the turn of the last century and before. Let's take a walk down memory lane.

The Best Classic Board Games

When I think of classic games, the first thing that always comes to my mind is Monopoly. Players move their pieces around the game board collecting property and money from the other players. Although there is certainly an element of chance, the game play is well blended with just enough of a strategy to make victory almost as much a factor of skill as it is chance.

Clue is another classic board game that allows players to solve a murder mystery through a clever process of elimination. Although I find this game to be best for younger players, the game is still a lot of fun for its nostalgia factor. There are also so many versions of Clue nowadays, from The Simpsons to Scooby Doo so as to keep things more interesting.

Still Fun After All These Years

The classics are still the best when it comes to board games. I always enjoy looking at a game that's been around for a long time and comparing the box and game board that the company produced decades ago with the look of the game now. Classic board games sure looked groovy back in the day.
