Omc Cobra Service Manuals

Since the OMC Cobra sterndrive line was discontinued in 1993, OMC Cobra service manuals have been the main resource for those looking to repair their Cobra sterndrive. The service manuals are comprehensive guides to the Cobra engine, and contain all of the necessary information for dismantling engine parts and replacing damaged components. They also contain important maintenance information, as well as complete parts lists.

As is the case with most service manuals, OMC Cobra service manuals are organized around a complete breakdown of the entire engine. Sterndrives are large engines with complicated structures, all of which are detailed in exploded-view diagrams, system by system. Each part is clearly labeled and numbered, for easy reference and ordering.

OMC Cobra engines were produced by OMC from 1985 to 1993. In that time, there was a lot of confusion surrounding Cobra parts, due to the fact that many original systems were shipped with maladjusted shifting cables, which had disastrous effects on many Cobras' gear sets. To compound the problem, OMC's first diagnosis of the problem addressed the clutch dog, instead of the control cables, which didn't solve the gear problem and led to further confusion and a possibly undeserved reputation.

Buying OMC Cobra Service Manuals

Nowadays, adjusting a Cobra engine and maximizing its potential is just a matter of tuning the cables and gleaning information from OMC Cobra service manuals and informative websites. Cobra parts and shop manuals are still available from Bombardier. Aftermarket parts and reference materials may also be available, though it is possible that support for Cobra engines may soon begin to wane.

Wondering how the wires hook to the coil'

drain plug

Having major problems putting back the starbord drain plug, would like a view to see where it goes. I am dealing with very limited space. This is by touch only.
