Science Adventure Camps

If your teenager has shown a natural inclination for marine biology or oceanography, science adventure camps are an ideal learning lab in which to pursue their interest. Under the supervision of knowledgeable counselors, your teen will get a first-hand and up-close look at tropical corals, multi-colored parrotfish, and a host of other exotic marine life. Snorkeling and scuba diving will take your young adventurer right into their private underwater world.

Your budding scientist will also learn valuable sailing and navigational skills as he or she helps guide the flotilla into seaports throughout the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, or the South Pacific. Even if your child has no prior experience on board a vessel, he or she will soon be right at home thanks in part to a hardworking and empathetic staff. One of the great benefits of adventure camps is the confidence and pride they inspire in maturing young adults.

Benefits of Science Adventure Camps

From personal growth and newfound friendships to all the new knowledge your child will acquire in his or her "living classroom," the pluses of a summer at sea are endless. Physical challenges such as windsurfing and waterskiing go hand in hand with the emotional challenge of being far from home for months at a time. All in all, the good derived from science adventure camps takes shape in countless ways. And you'll notice the growth as soon as your son or daughter returns from the adventure.

The skills and self-reliance that your child brings home is readily apparent to teachers, coaches, and peers. While most kids are playing hockey or soccer or participating in color war, your child can be building a fire, reading latitudes and longitudes, or frolicking with porpoises and eels. After a summer at sea, your child may discover that a science adventure camp is just a precursor to a career in biology, botany, or zoology.
