Duck Blinds

There are different types of duck blinds, just as there are various styles of duck decoys and duck boats. Basically, the type of blinds you choose depends on the type of environment in which you will be hunting. If you are like most hunters, you probably are going to carry out your business on public hunting grounds, which means that portable blinds would work best for you.

Portable blinds are also great tools for hunting on private grounds where permanent blinds can not be set up properly. Also, by using portable duck blinds for awhile, you can better determine where permanent blinds can be built. These are the obvious advantages to using portable blinds over permanent blinds.

Duck Blinds for Total Concealment

Permanent duck blinds can be build using a variety of materials, including wood and select metals. Building permanent blinds require a lot of work, and can not be easily moved, which is why using portable blinds first is a smart idea. However, permanent blinds can offer great stability, which is important when you need to shoot quickly and from various body positions.

Whichever type of blinds you choose, just make sure that you opt for a camouflage pattern which will blend in well with the surroundings. Placing your blinds in vegetative cover is another great idea, as it conceals you and the blinds even further. Ducks are not stupid animals, and they will not venture into your area if they suspect you are waiting in the wings with a loaded gun.
