Goose Calls

Goose calls are instruments that allow you to make fabricated noises that resemble the real sounds of geese communicating with each other. When you combine goose calls with goose decoys, you can really catch the attention of geese in the area. In fact, using these tactics makes it very difficult for geese to pass by without checking out the scene.

This is exactly what you want to happen when you are out in the field goose hunting. Geese, by nature, are very sociable animals, and they will fiercely protect their flock if they feel threatened in any way. Therefore, it you are hoping to rein in a goose or two, you are going to have to think like a goose to achieve that goal.

Fool 'Em with Goose Calls

Geese, like most animals in nature, are programmed with a fight or flight response, which they use when they feel danger lurking. In other words, if they sense your presence in the area, they will not willingly wander into your target zone. Therefore, it is imperative that you take some measures to make yourself as invisible as possible.

One way to achieve this is to wear camouflage clothes, such as a parka and bibs, that really allow you to blend into the background. You can also hide behind hunting blinds if that is feasible. Finally, when you combine these measures with goose calls and decoys, you are on the right path to having a successful day of goose hunting.
