Dealer Supplies

Card games require dealers, and dealers require dealer supplies to effectively and efficiently deal a card game. Most private card games require players to alternate who is the dealer. If this is the type of game you typically participate in, you definitely need some dealer supplies to facilitate the flow of your card games. You can run a professional game without being a professional poker player.

Dealing shoes qualify as a necessary dealer accessory. Dealer shoes cut down on cheating and human error. Cheating isn't as glamorous as it used to be, but some people still look for any opportunity to circumvent the rules. A dealing shoe really limits a cheater's options. A shoe also helps prevent human error that often accompanies dealing cards. You don't have to worry about dropping the cards or misdealing.

Automatic card shufflers are also a great poker and blackjack game enhancer. Taking time to shuffle cards, particularly when you're using multiple decks, really slows the game down. Casino tables that don't use cards shufflers often have a hard time keeping people at the table. These automatic shufflers are available to everyone these days.

The most overlooked dealer supplies are playing cards. I recently rummaged through some old decks of cards, and I noticed that two of the decks had marked cards. People I played with, friends of mine, actually marked the cards to give themselves a little edge. Many of these cards were also flimsy, and some decks were missing cards. I suggest replacing your decks at least twice a year. Most casino decks rarely last longer than a day.
