Immune Support

Everyone needs immune support from time to time. We all get stressed; we all get tired; we all get ill from time to time. For some people, however, keeping the immune system supported can mean the difference between life and death. So many different diseases and disorders adversely affect the human immune system, and people with these disorders need to take special care.

Special Needs, Special Measures

People with HIV and AIDS, of course, should take great care with their immune systems. AIDS stands for acquired immune deficiency syndrome and, as the name indicates, it can cause parts of the immune system to become more and more deficient. A person does not die of AIDS. Rather, she dies of the opportunistic infections which prey on the body when it is unable to defend itself, because its immune system is so weak.

One can compare the human immune system (or the immune responses of any living creature, for that matter, since all have them) to an army. With AIDS, it's as if the army has deserted. With auto-immune disorders, the army has staged a mutiny. With auto-immune disorders like Rheumatoid arthritis, lupus and multiple sclerosis, the immune system attacks parts of the body it is meant to protect.

People with Alzheimer's disease, asthma, chronic fatigue syndrome and a number of other illnesses should look to powerful immune support in the form of supplements. Some of the best supplements are those which support the body's naturally occurring glutathione. Glutathione serves as an antioxidant within the body. Supplements with cysteine, or bonded cysteine, can boost glutathione levels, improving overall health. However, cysteine is best supplied by bioactive undenatured whey proteins. People who need immune support can benefit from undenatured whey proteins that raise their glutathione back up to a normal, healthy level.
