Immune System Improvement

Our bodies are constantly under attack by germs. Germs are tiny invaders that include viruses, bacteria, parasites and fungi, all of which can cause infections. Infections can include anything from cold or flu to sinusitis or even arthritis. Fortunately, our bodies are equipped with a defense against these attackers. The defense is known as the immune system.

The immune system is body-wide. In other words, it encompasses many organs, including the skin, as well as many tissues, glands, and cells. The system is very complicated. When you consider that the body can recognize and respond to literally millions of different invaders, its complexity begins to make sense. Foreign substances are known as antigens, and antigens trigger the immune system to secrete fluids or rally cells to attack. They attack the invader, thereby protecting the body.

Immune System Improvement

When the immune system is impaired or over-burdened, infection can result. Keeping the immune system healthy and strong, on the other hand, will help you stay healthy and strong. A healthy diet, regular exercise, plenty of water and sufficient rest are all ways to boost the immune system.

Nutrition is also a great way to improve the immune system. Famous immune system boosters include both garlic and vitamin C, found in many fruits and vegetables. When your immune system is going to be faced with an onslaught of germs (say, on an airplane flight) it's wise to take more natural immunity boosters. It's important to take a precursor or building block of glutathione, since much evidence points to the powerful impact glutathione levels can have on the health of a person, and the most important of these precursors is cysteine. Cysteine is best supplied by bioactive undenatured whey proteins. People with CFS can benefit from undenatured whey proteins that raise their glutathione back up to a normal, healthy level.
