We've all had the experience of waking up in the middle of the night with a dry throat dying for a drink of water. Sometimes these wake-ups can be frequent throughout the night and lead to sluggishness and irritability in the morning. Children are often even more vulnerable to these kind of wake-ups as it is harder for them to sleep through discomfort. The solution to this problem can be found in the world of humidifiers.

The traditional humidifier is big, bulky and sometimes quite loud. The noise alone can outweigh any benefit such a machine might offer. However, there is a new generation of humidifier available that offers a number of things to encourage a restful sleep. These machines are known as fountain misters.

Fountain Misters as Sleep Aids

Fountain misters create a soothing mist that adds moisture to dry air. A fountain mister can be placed on a tabletop in any bedroom. Moreover, the unit itself is far more attractive than the traditional humidifier and will blend into most decors.

Fountain misters are available with several different features that soothe the senses. Some change colors providing a soothing rhythm of color in a room. Others can be used with aromatherapy essence or lemon juice for a pleasing and relaxing aroma. Fountain misters use normal tap water to produce the mist. As they work, there is the sound of a delicate trickling of water like a country brook. This sound in and of itself can calm a restless mind and help lull anyone into a restful sleep.
