Ultimate Cancer Breakthroughs

Ultimate cancer breakthroughs have largely been in the field of alternative cancer treatment that have then been incorporated into standard treatments. The foundation of integrative medicine is the accepted triad of surgery/radiation/chemotherapy, but slowly, alternative cancer remedies have been ushered into the treatment regimen. While some mainstream organizations remain skeptical of the efficacy of alternative approaches, studies and clinical trials have been, and are being, conducted on a variety of vitamins, herbs, and other substances.

As orthodox medicine has opened up to the possibilities of alternative medicine, a few ultimate cancer breakthroughs have gained ground. To those who have been proponents of a healthy lifestyle that includes nutritious food and nutritional supplements, the advent of a quality diet and vitamins in the treatment of cancer patients is long overdue. If we are what we eat, and if we are becoming a nation of obese children and adults, then a closer look at the consequences of an unhealthy diet could have good results.

Ultimate Cancer Breakthroughs from an Alternative Perspective

The growing acceptance of a more Eastern approach to cancer therapy may open up the medical establishment to the possibilities of the use of plants and herbal cancer treatments. Undoubtedly some claims of "miracle cures" are false, but that does not mean all alternative techniques and approaches are invalid. More studies and clinical trials need to be undertaken so solid conclusions can be reached and publicized.

Certainly, ultimate cancer breakthroughs have been recent in terms of acceptance by the medical establishment. The use of yoga, tai chi, and support groups have become fairly common, but these are adjunct treatments. The establishment still adheres to the surgery/radiation/chemotherapy triad, but the public has really forced the establishment to at least consider many other approaches in hopes of finding some treatment that will cure this deadly disease.
