Prevent bad breath by following these few simple steps. First, brush your teeth at least twice a day. Brushing helps to eliminate 70% of the bacteria that forms in your mouth as a result of eating.


Prevent Bad Breath by Flossing

Flossing regularly will help to get rid of the other 30% of bacteria that calls your mouth home. Combined, brushing and flossing helps kill all the germs, plaque and bacteria that form in and around your teeth. This is the number one cause of bad breath.

If you smoke cigarettes or chew tobacco, chances are you have bad breath more often than not. By quitting these habits you will notice a whiter smile, fresher breath and healthier gums. Gum disease could be the reason you continually have bad breath.


Visit Your Dentist

Another way to prevent bad breath is to visit your dentist twice a year. Every six months you should have a professional cleaning to help eliminate the build up of plaque around your teeth and gums. This will ensure you are maintaining a healthy mouth and in turn, avoiding halitosis or other dental problems.
