Muscle building programs are geared towards individuals who are interested in natural bodybuilding, without the use of synthetic steroids. There are many factors that go into bodybuilding programs that go beyond just lifting weights every day in the gym for an hour to two. In fact, if you want to build your muscles safely, it is not recommended that you lift weights for more than 30-40 minutes at one time, as this can cause you to overstress your muscles, which in turn can cause injuries.

More than likely, you have a picture in your mind of body builders that you may see at the gym you frequent. The stereotypical body builder spends hours in the gym lifting weights, gulping down protein bars and shakes, as well as taking supplements to boost testosterone levels, which in turn increases muscle size. These body builders also have huge muscles that look almost impossible to attain to the average person.

However, what may surprise you is that muscle building programs that are incredibly effective do not require you to spend hours in the gym. Yes, you may have to supplement your diet with some high quality protein bars or shakes, but that's not so bad, right? In reality, to build bigger muscles, you only have to spend 30-40 minutes in the gym lifting weights.

However, you must train only 1-2 muscle groups per workout, and you should allow yourself 5-7 days in-between to let those muscles rest before you work them again. In addition, you must eat a diet rich in fresh vegetables and fruits, whole grains, lean meats and fish, with a limited supply of saturated fats. Don't forget that it is equally important to perform cardiovascular exercises at least 3-5 days a week to burn fat and drop the pounds.
