Hair Loss Treatments

Are you one of the many individuals out there looking for hair loss treatments? There are so many people, particularly men, who have a fear of hair loss. I personally know of several individuals who are showing no signs of hair loss and still worry about it every day. I also know people who have had significant hair loss for years and have accepted that fact. Just a little tip: worry can lead to hair loss.

We have all seen the commercials advertising hair loss treatments. We are all familiar with the phrase, "I'm not only the President, I'm also a client!" But, how well do these treatments work? There is obviously no instant miracle cure or I'm sure we would see fewer bald people. My father has no problem being bald. However, given the option, he would probably choose to have his thick head of hair back.

Who Needs Hair Loss Treatments?

Well, anyone who wants to thwart the possibility of hair loss will want hair loss treatments. First, however, let us go into a bit of why pattern baldness occurs. Ninety-five percent of the time, baldness and thinning is a direct result of genetics and hormones. Basically, if you were born with it, you're stuck. However, there are some products on the market today that assist in slowing, stopping and re-growing hair.

The main inhibitor of hair growth is a hormone called dihydrotestosterone, or, DHT. All males have this hormone, as it is important when going through puberty. However, it is a main cause of pattern baldness later in life. When the scalp of a balding man was compared to that of a hairy scalp, the bald one contained significantly more DHT than the hairy one.

There are some hair loss treatments out there that have DHT inhibitors. As far as much of the research goes, these are the ones you want to look for. You can find all kinds of treatments online. Just go to the search engine of your choice and do a keyword search and you are all set. I suggest looking at some of the more neutral sites first. Don't go to the ones that are selling just one product.

When Looking for Hair Loss Treatments

By looking at websites that compare products, you can get a better idea of what works and what will be good for you. If you go instantly to a site selling one particular product, they will always say that they are the best, you can't beat them and you will have the head of hair you always wished for. This may or may not be true. Ask some of your friends. If you are hesitant to do this, just know that many of them have the same thoughts and issues.

When looking for hair loss treatments, I suggest using something that has a money-back guarantee. A product with no guarantee, to me, isn't worth using. Of course, every company will have to give money back at some point or another because not everyone is going to be ecstatic with the same product. If a company thinks that they will have to refund money often because of an inferior product, they are less likely to give a guarantee.

Hair loss treatments can be taken orally or directly applied to the scalp. Some people prefer orally only, finding that the scalp treatment is messy and inconvenient. You will also find a list of side effects with most treatments. If you choose a treatment and find that you are one of the people affected by some of those, simply stop your treatment. This does not mean that you cannot try another one. Consult a doctor and see what the best course of action is.
