Anti-wrinkle Treatment

What causes the skin to wrinkle? There are a number of different causes--free radicals, hormones, effects of sunlight, gravity and habitual muscle use. Free radicals have somehow managed to rise to the forefront of American consciousness. There was little mention of free radicals 15 years ago, and now sellers of products like green tea market their product based on its ability to combat free radicals.

Free radicals are unstable oxygen molecules with only one electron. Oxygen molecules should have two electrons. Air pollution, sunlight, and cigarette smoke are loaded with free radicals. If you live in a large metropolitan city, your skin is constantly being bombarded with free radicals. As the air gets worse and the ozone layer depletes, people will start developing wrinkles at a much earlier age.

Fighting Age the Natural Way

Fortunately, anti-wrinkle treatments have emerged that help stave off the aging process. Over the years, things like free radicals, sunlight, hormones and gravity break down the skin's collagen and elastin. The skin starts to droop and develop deep, unattractive wrinkles. A number of people have resorted to expensive procedures like plastic surgery and Botox injections.

While some of these procedures can be effective, they are costly, invasive, and a little risky. Advancements in technology have given us products that are very effective and surprisingly natural. Researchers are discovering the anti-aging gifts nature has given us and learning how to combine these substances into anti-wrinkle treatments. They are creating products rife with botanical extracts, anti-oxidants, and vitamins.
