If you are an adult with a stuttering problem, chances are you have already visited a speech therapist. Good speech therapists can be incredibly helpful. Their advice and direction can be invaluable to the stutterer. Unfortunately, speech therapy is both expensive and time-consuming. It also may not be available in your area. Furthermore, not every speech therapist is a good one. The level of training, experience, compassion and patience a person has varies from speech therapist to speech therapist.

Hypnosis for Stuttering

These days, more and more people are turning to hypnosis to help them get a handle on their stuttering. Stuttering is a communication disorder. While the cause is not yet known, it is widely recognized that stuttering is exacerbated by stress. This connection between stress and communication holds true for most people, whether they stutter or not. The majority of people find that stress and anxiety make clear communication more difficult. For stutterers, the connection is simply more noticeable.

Hypnosis is an excellent treatment for all types of disorders. Since so many ailments, habits and disorders are worsened by stress, the technique of self-hypnosis is especially beneficial. Hypnosis relaxes the body, decreasing stress.

Hypnosis can be used to treat many disorders that are worsened by stress, including insomnia, impotence, blushing and anxiety. People use hypnosis to improve their public speaking, their golf game or their self-confidence. Hypnosis is so effective that it can even be used to treat painful arthritis and other chronic conditions, by limiting the pain receptors in the brain.
