Not all diet foods are good for you. There are many diet foods that are loaded with sodium, sugar, and chemicals that can actually undo any benefits you may think you are getting by cutting calories. The fact is, the best way to achieve weight loss is by eating a diet that is balanced, which includes carbs, proteins, and limited fats.

If you eat only low carb foods, you are doing your body a huge disservice. Foods such as fresh fruits, vegetables, legumes, and whole grains are rich in fiber, vitamins and minerals, as well as antioxidants that the human body needs to live. Furthermore, fresh fruits and vegetables tend to be low in calories, so they are the perfect diet foods that are found in nature.

Natural Diet Foods

The best diet foods are the ones that come in their original state, that are not loaded with chemical preservatives. In places like Europe, you will find that people do their grocery shopping daily, in order to eat only the freshest foods. You would be hard-pressed to find an Italian going to the grocery store to stock up on frozen dinner entrees.

You will also notice that the French and Italian, who are known for being big eaters, are rarely obese. Why is that? Well, more than likely it is because they incorporate only the freshest foods, from all food groups, into their daily diet. If you walked into an Italian restaurant and shunned the fresh loaves of bread, and the pasta, they would look at you like you had two heads! Remember, the best way to lose weight is to eat well, without loading up on foods that contain nothing but empty calories.
