Well, it sure isn't difficult to find numerous low carb food lists. All you have to do is turn on your computer, and look up "low carb diets" on the Internet using a search engine, such as Google or Yahoo. You will probably find it amazing just how many sites are dedicated to the low carbs lifestyle. But if you are looking for information about low carb foods, the Worldwide Web is your ticket to the facts.

In all likelihood, you will find a way to look up low carb food lists in relation to your favorite foods. For instance, many sites have tools that allow you to type in a food, and then check the status its carbohydrate content. You may eat a bagel for breakfast every morning, and be curious about it's carb content. Well, without question the amount of carbs in a bagel is very high, which will show up when you check it against the low carb food lists found on many sites.

Are Low Carb Food Lists Helpful?

Well, the answer to this question is "yes" and "no". First, it important to realize that while cutting back on carbs can help you lose weight initially, it may not be the best plan of attack for the long-haul. Why? Well, when you eliminate or severely restrict carbs from your diet, you must eliminate foods that contain many essential vitamins and minerals that the body needs to live. Such foods include: fresh fruits, fresh veggies, whole grains, other products made from these foods.

Our bodies need a balance of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats to live. When you take out any of these components, than their is a deficit, which can harm you in more ways than one. Not only will your diet be lacking in the proper nutrients, but you may experience fatigue, irritability, headaches, nausea, and dizziness. The medical community still holds strong to the belief that a balanced diet that omits empty calories, in conjunction with regular exercise, is the best laid plan of attack against weight gain.
