No carb foods are the most popular foods on the market today, as more and more people are going on low carb diets to lose weight. If you turn on the television, you will see advertisements for milk, icecream, cereals, and pasta that contain little to no carbs. The problem is that these no carb foods probably do not taste very good, and they can also be more expensive to buy.

Furthermore, low carb diet plans can be difficult to stick to over the long haul. When you practically eliminate certain foods from your diet, it's almost as if you crave them more. Not only can the low carb diet plan be tough to stick to, but it may not be the healthiest choice either. The jury is still out on just how beneficial or risky low carb diets are, but many medical professionals feel that it is not the best route to go for weight loss.

Are No Carb Foods Worth It?

Truthfully, no carb foods can help you lose weight rapidly, but they are not really the best way to go to maintain weight loss for the long-term. The fact of the matter is that the human body needs carbs to function, and in the absence of them the body begins to feel less energized, and the immune system can become compromised. Many complex carbs come from fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes, which are packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fiber that we need to maintain health.

If you cut these foods out in favor of no carb foods, you will be omitting these nutrients from your diet. Sure, you can take a multi-vitamin, but that does not make up for poor eating habits. If you are not sure how to best proceed to lose weight, simply talk to your doctor. He or she can give you some good medical advice that will help you get started in the right direction.
