Lymphedema Schools Offer Expert Training

Lymphedema schools offer extensive training in the treatment of lymphedema. Many massage therapists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and physicians take lymphedema courses to become certified therapists. These courses teach Manual Lymph Drainage and Complete Decongestive Therapy, along with proper skin care, and diet and exercise recommendations.

The Academy of Lymphatic Studies in North America offers training programs in the original Vodder Method of MLD and Combined Decongestive Therapy. This program offers pathology instruction with a medical doctor. You will also receive 135 hours of training that include MLD, CDT, as well as compression bandaging, remedial exercises, skin care to prevent infection, and proper diet.
