Once you have gotten past the point of buying a massage table, you are going to want some massage table accessories. You may be wondering which ones are the best. If you cannot afford all the accessories you want, take a look at what is out there. Decide which ones you think would be best to begin with. As your business takes off, you can invest in other accessories later.

Massage Table Accessories to Help Business

The biggest accessory you will want to purchase right away is a face rest. If your table did not come with one, get one immediately. You do not need your clients enjoying a fabulous back massage only to get up and discover a horrible crick in their necks. A face rest allows them to have a comfortable place to put their head and still be able to breathe while lying face down. Get some nice cotton covers and you are all set. You can upgrade to ones that angle, or get fleece covers as your business takes off.

As far as massage table accessories go, you will also want to look into bolsters. These are the cylindrical pillows that are put under a client's legs. When the client is on his or her back, the bolster gets placed under the knees. When the client is on his or her stomach, it is placed under the ankles. Not all are cylindrical. Some have a flat bottom so as not to move around too much. You can also get a triangular bolster for the sternum.

Two nice massage table accessories are footrests and armrests. The armrests tend to go under the face rest. This way, a client can put her arms at a comfortable level just below her. The arms are pressed back on the table, or left hanging off with the blood rushing to them. Footrests are great for foot massages or if you have a particularly tall client. Neither of these is necessary to begin a business, but they are quite helpful to have as you solidify your reputation and expand your business.
