The Hyfrecator has been in existence for over 60 years. The Hyfrecator 2000 is introduced by CONMED featuring additional memory to store the setting for the last procedure. It saves the low, high, and bipolar settings. It is designed with a remote control on the hand piece that guarantees the integrity of a sterile field. It is easy to switch between the high and low output ports, depending on the procedure.

There are two microprocessors. One controls the functionality and output of the system and the other is a built-in safety device. It terminates activity if a threat to safety is detected. The Hyfrecator 2000 is regarded as one of the safest electrosurgery units for office use. Some of the built-in safeguards include the self-diagnostic testing performed at startup. All systems are evaluated to ensure patient safety.

Many Uses of the Hyfrecator 2000

The design incorporates two non-sterile sheaths to protect the hand piece from contaminants such as blood. The two sterile sheaths provide extra protection for the patient and physician. Accessories available include disposable tips, wall mounting kit, autoclavable pencil, and a manual. A procedural video is also available to ensure proper use of the equipment.

Plastic surgeons use the Hyfrecator 2000 for hemostasis (stopping bleeding). Proctologists use it for treatment of hemorrhoids and anal fissures. Gynecologists remove vaginal cysts and urethral tumors with the technology of the hyfrecator. Ophthalmologists burn entropian chalazions. Otolaryngologists use the technology in the removal of adenoids, tonsils, and nasal polyps. It is a widely used instrument for the control of bleeding during a variety of procedures.
