Discount Lexapro is an antidepressant medication in the class of drugs known as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). Lexapro is generally prescribed to patients who have symptoms of depression and/or generalized anxiety disorder. As with any type of medication, it is necessary to have a complete physical examination before you can begin a treatment plan with Lexapro.

Lexapro comes in both tablet and liquid form and it is usually taken once daily with or without food. It is important that you continue taking Lexapro even if your symptoms subside and you begin to feel much better. Many patients do not begin to feel any changes until they have been on Lexapro for at least a few weeks.

Lexapro has been known to cause some side effects that you should be aware of before beginning this medication. Serious side effects include an allergic reaction such as difficulty breathing or closing of the throat, irregular heartbeat, low blood pressure, severe headache, dizziness, and blurred vision. Immediately stop taking Lexapro and seek medical attention if you feel any of the above symptoms. Less serious side effects include headache, tremor, nervousness, anxiety, diarrhea, dry mouth, changes in appetite or weight, sleepiness, insomnia, or decreased sex drive. Talk to your doctor if any of these side effects become worrisome for you.
