There are several fertility products available for purchase at most pharmacies. Of course, depending on the geographic region in which you live, not all products will be available in all stores. Most stores, however, will carry contraceptives as well as fertility tests to help you prevent yourself from getting pregnant or to assist you in conceiving.

The only way to guarantee that you will not get pregnant is to abstain from sexual intercourse. If you want to significantly lower your risk of conceiving and you don't want to see a doctor for a prescription or other method of birth control, condoms and spermicides can be found at most pharmacies. Condoms can also prevent the spread of sexually transmitted diseases. It is important to keep in mind, however, that using condoms and spermicides does not guarantee that you will not conceive.

On the other hand, if you are trying to conceive a child, you may want to use ovulation tests or basal thermometers to determine the timeframe in which you have the greatest chance of conceiving. A woman's body temperature rises when she begins to ovulate. Taking your temperature will allow you to generate a plot so that you can predict when you are ovulating.

If you think that you have conceived, you may want to pick up a home pregnancy test. Some of these tests can tell you if you are pregnant within one week of conception. These tests are not 100 percent accurate, so you should verify your findings with a doctor before making any plans or telling your friends.
