In the old days, people did not talk about male fertility. It was commonly believed that if a couple repeatedly failed to conceive, there was something wrong with the woman's reproductive system. Only in the past few decades has adequate research been conducted to place the burden of infertility equally upon the man.

Today, there are various remedies for male infertility. One of the easiest ways for a man to improve his fertility is by reducing consumption of alcohol and nicotine. While beer and cigarette advertisements want you to believe that these products can enhance a man's sex appeal, they can diminish the quality of his performance in the bedroom. Alcohol can cause premature ejaculation and nicotine can interfere with sexual performance. Frequent use of caffeine has been shown to have an effect on the blood vessels that play an important role in sexual function.

Your Diet Affects Your Sexual Performance

Eating a healthy balanced diet and exercising regularly can also decrease symptoms of male infertility. Foods high in fat and preservatives can clog up your circulatory system. Even small amounts of daily exercise, such as a walk around the block or a few minutes of playing with the dog can be beneficial over time. When you exercise on a regular basis, you look better and feel better about yourself. A positive self image plays a big role in sexual appetite.

Eating foods high in specific vitamins can have a big effect on male fertility. Foods rich in B vitamins such as bananas, peanuts, salmon, tuna, eggs, and carrots can improve your stamina. Vitamin C can make your whole body healthy, including the sperm you produce. Herbal supplements such as Gingko Biloba and Yohimbe have been shown to be effective at increasing sex drive in men.
