For people with serious back pain a change of mattress is, in all likelihood in order. What kind of new mattress you choose will probably depend on how much you can afford and how much you have heard about some of the newer materials that bed manufacturers have been using recently. Swedish foam mattresses are becoming more and more popular as so many people discover their benefits as far as getting a good night's sleep is concerned.

Swedish foam mattresses get their name from the fact that the original firm making mattresses from this special foam that was first developed by NASA, import their foam from Sweden. But now, many different firms are making their own visco-elastic Swedish foam and they have been dubbed Swedish foam mattresses by lots of people. Although some are contending that no one else makes Swedish foam mattresses as well as Tempurpedic, the original company, lots of others are contending this.

Prefer Softer Swedish Foam Mattresses?

Many are actually saying they prefer other makes of Swedish foam mattresses to Tempurpedic simply because they have all the same properties but are slightly softer. This is because more heat is needed to activate Tempurpedic's "memory." Other makes of memory foam tend to react a lot more quickly, and thus are softer.

Apart from being softer, and thus to some more comfortable, other types of Swedish foam mattresses are also much cheaper than Tempurpedic. Although we don't advise that you look for the cheapest, there's no reason why you should assume that only Tempurpedic can solve your sleep problems. Do investigate the Swedish foam mattress you are buying thoroughly first though. Some makes of Swedish foam are actually very poor quality, and will begin to deteriorate almost immediately.
