New York microdermabrasion can be combined with a regular facial treatment without taking too much of your valuable time. Microdermabrasion is a technique that has been popular for several years now, and it's had that amount of time to refine itself as a safe, effective approach to getting rid of the dead, dull skin layer that keeps us from looking our best.

New York microdermabrasion uses tested and proven methods to gently rejuvenate the skin. This is accomplished by directing a stream of tiny crystals at the skin in a controlled and even manner. These crystals act as a sort of ultra-refined pumice stone, wiping away dead skin cells that, for whatever reason, don't slough off as they should.

How New York Microdermabrasion Works

These dead skin cells form a kind of dull mask over our fresh and healthy skin, making us look older and less vibrant than we really are. As a result, wrinkles, sun damage, and blemishes are more noticeable. Microdermabrasion effectively smoothes everything out to make the skin look younger and healthier. Once the dead layer of skin is removed, cellular growth of the underlying, living skin is stimulated, and the skin is thus rejuvenated.

Other imperfections that can be alleviated with New York microdermabrasion are stretch marks, acne scars, and abnormally large pores. Treatments need to be ongoing, as the skin never stops changing. In fact, every 10 days or so, our skin cells completely replace themselves. Microdermabrasion is one of the most effective tools we have to stimulate this replacement process.
