The medical benefits of meditation are undeniably incredible. Medical research indicates that meditation can increase blood flow and lower your heart rate. Frequent meditation leads to deeper levels of relaxation and helps regulate blood pressure. For those who experience anxiety attacks like I once did, it reduces anxiety attacks by decreasing the levels of blood lactate.

Meditation also offers other physiological benefits for those intelligent enough to practice one or more of the many techniques available. It decreases headaches and muscle tension. It elevates serotonin production which influences your moods and your overall behavior. In fact, depression, insomnia, obesity, and certain anxiety disorders have been linked to low levels of serotonin.

Spiritual Benefits of Meditation

The medical benefits of meditation are being discovered every day. In general, it arms your immune system by increasing the activity of your body's natural-killer cells, which kill bacteria and irregular cells, like cancer cells. This is unquestionably wonderful news for those of us who meditate and those of us interested in meditation. However, the spiritual benefits are so much more exciting.

No matter what faith you subscribe to or what your beliefs are, meditation will enhance your spirituality. Through meditation and eventually deep meditation techniques, you will discover more about yourself and your connection to everything in the universe. This feeling of oneness is the essence of my own spirituality and this feeling is better than anything you will ever experience.
