Cleansing teas have become very popular components of European weight control programs. Common ingredients include hibiscus, red clover, and parsley, all of which are said to rid the body of harmful toxins. People acquire toxins through food, air pollution, and even from within the body itself.

One of the healthiest cleansing teas is called green tea. Green tea has been popular in Asia for centuries, and now many Americans have begun drinking it for its health benefits. Green tea contains hundreds of times more antioxidants than traditional black tea. Antioxidants fight off harmful free radicals in the body. Free radicals are said to be a leading cause of cancer.

Some people feel that herbal teas have spiritual benefits. Some herbs help people sleep, while others relieve stress. Sometimes, just the smell and taste of tea makes people feel refreshed.

Tastes of Cleansing Teas

Cleansing teas come in a variety of flavors. Popular fruit flavors include blackberry, lemon, and orange. Cinnamon flavored tea has an arousing fragrance and plenty of taste. By heating apple juice or apple cider to a hot simmer and then adding a cinnamon tea bag, people have themselves a delicious and warming treat on a winter day.
