Quick weight loss requires a great deal of determination and motivation. There are a number of different reasons why we all want to lose weight quickly, including looking good for special events, trying to impress that special someone, and just wanting to look and feel better sooner rather than later.

There are a number of different diet programs that provide people with the tools to lose weight rapidly. If you've been eating poorly for many years, your body should respond to a new diet with immediate weight loss. When you consider that it takes a reduction in 3,500 calories per week to lose a single pound, it makes sense why people lose weight so quickly on restrictive diets. Some people go from eating 3,500 calories in a single day to eating less than 1,200 calories per day.

Getting Over a Diet Plateau

For many people quick weight loss is something that happens in the beginning of a new diet program, and then tapers off over time. I know losing weight quickly helps to keep me motivated, but the moment the weight loss slows down I feel frustrated. If you want to make sure you're weight loss is continuous, you need to switch things up occasionally.

If you find that your weight loss has slowed down before you're anywhere near your goal weight, you've probably reached a plateau. The best diet programs provide people with diet plans for these plateau days. If you want to jump start your weight loss it's a good idea to increase the amount of exercise you do every day, and reduce the number of salty foods in your diet. It's also a good idea to eat foods that help to flush excess water from the system such as spinach, grapefruit, and lettuce.
