Air Bear Filters

Air Bear filters come in a variety of sizes, thicknesses, and MERV ratings. The whole-house filters are available with a removable pre-filter to capture large particulates and an after-filter of charcoal to remove odors. The capacity to hold dirt is increased due to the pleated design of synthetic material. The low-resistance airflow does not inhibit the function of the heating and cooling system.

The MERV ratings are high enough to effectively capture and remove pollen, mold, and other airborne pollutants. Electrostatically-charged fibers add to the capturing ability by pulling in the dust particles and holding them until the filter is cleaned. Particles as tiny as one micron are trapped in the Air Bear filter. The installation is easy. Just order the size of filter that is in the unit, remove the old, and replace with the new. If your unit is not a standard size, a customized fit can be ordered.

Types of Air Bear Filters

A filter with an anti-microbial agent is necessary to prevent micro-organisms from growing within the captured contaminants. The filter should remain dry at all times to retard the possible growth of mildew, mold, or fungi. Bacteria and particles carrying virus contaminants must be retained in a dry, anti-microbial environment to eliminate the media needed to propagate.

One measure that can be taken to enhance the air-cleaning performance of the Air Bear filter is vacuuming frequently. Dusting with some type of dust "magnet" to avoid putting more dust molecules in the air and opening windows often to allow fresh air exchange will also help with clean air. Monitoring the humidity level in the home for no more than 50 percent is important in controlling mold and mildew.
