Central Air Filters

Central air filters are probably the most effective devices in clearing the air inside homes and offices of harmful and irritating particles. The type of filter is the key to receiving the most benefit in reducing the pollutants. Some filters are more porous and trap only the larger particles. Other filters are designed to capture particles as tiny as 0.3 microns in size.

Many central air filters are one-inch thick and are low-grade quality. This means the particle removal efficiency is probably less than 10 percent. Replaceable filters are available for any size unit by either standard size or a customized fit. Replacing an inefficient filter with a high-rated MERV filter will eliminate as much as 97 percent or more of the pollutants from the air.

Choose from Many Central Air Filters

The first use of a high-efficiency filter may require replacement more frequently until the central air system has circulated enough to remove all accumulated pollutants. If the filter becomes full, it can put a stress on the cooling unit. It must be kept clean to operate efficiently and economically. An obvious difference in the air quality will be seen shortly after beginning the air cleaning with a quality filter.

There are filters designed to capture specific types of air contaminants. It is easy to find the one that will work for any specific need. You can reduce the amount of pollen, mold, dust, odor, and many other undesired particles in the air you breathe simply by using the right choice of central air filters on your air conditioning unit. You can have air as clean as the freshly washed air after a spring shower with the right air filter.
