Wine Glass Racks

Nothing saves space in a bar like a wine glass rack. Mounted above or behind your bar, under a cupboard or directly from the ceiling, wine glass racks are the easiest and most attractive way to store your wine glasses and other stemware. There's also something about the open display of wine glasses hanging upside down that makes a special statement.

Wine glass racks come in metal or wood, most commonly chrome-plated steel and brass, which goes a long way in matching your bar foot rests or arm rests. The best thing about these racks is, they come in all shapes and sizes to fit your bar or kitchen. You can even order custom lengths to fit tight spaces, or to combine pieces for a larger display.

Wine Glass Racks--Channeling the Wine Gods

Most wine glass racks consist of channels, and each channel may hold anywhere from one to ten glasses. Of course you can use your wine glass racks for storing any type of glass that has a wide enough base to fit the channel grooves.

Considering you are hanging actual glass in the air, often directly suspended above your patrons' heads, make sure you take care to install your wine glass racks with the right hardware and in the right places. Try and locate studs in your ceiling and mount in those places with wood screws, or use anchor bolts for plaster. Mounting your rack into wood cabinetry is somewhat less risky, but make sure you follow the directions and test the strength with some other weight before loading all of your glasses into the rack.
