The paramount consideration in hotel bathroom design needs to be the satisfaction of guests. To provide for the wide range of individual users that would typically use hotel bathrooms, design needs to be as flexible as possible. Bathroom design and fitting is expensive, so it's important that the design is successful so that the process does not need to be repeated sooner than expected.

Hotel bathroom design is so important to the hotel industry that the reputation of a hotel can rise or fall on the success or failure of its bathrooms. Now, at least some of the bathrooms in any hotel should comply with ADA requirements. It is not only important to avoid falling foul of the law in this respect, but to be seen to be sympathetic to all sectors of the community. Word soon gets out about who provides the best facilities, especially within such tight communities as those for the handicapped.

Reflecting the Needs of Guests with Hotel Bathroom Design

It's not only important that hotel bathroom design reflect the needs of guests though. Hygiene and maintenance issues need to figure high on the list of requirements too. Cleaning hotels can be a mammoth task, and any elements of design that can make hotel bathroom cleaning any easier or more efficient will be money savers in the long run.

Although most people look for luxury and pampering in their choice of hotel bathrooms, hotel bathroom design that uses too much in the way of fabric or porous surfaces is unlikely to be successful. Any soft furnishing fabrics that are used need to be of the very highest quality that can be repeatedly washed for good appearance and economy. As for sanitaryware and hardware for hotel bathrooms, hands-free is the way to go according to many experts in hotel bathroom design.
