Whirlpool TubWritten by Patricia Skinner The most famous of all whirlpool tub designs is still the Jacuzzi. There are many more wonderful makes of whirlpool to choose from, and if you're thinking of installing one, you need to investigate the ranges thoroughly so that you are sure of getting the best model for your needs. There have been developments in the whirlpool world though, since Jacuzzi first came up with their revolutionary invention. To begin with, anyone buying a whirlpool tub now must first decide whether they want water jets or air jets. If you like the idea of being blasted by strong jets, then stick with water. Air jets are propelled through a few more openings than you'll find on a water jet whirlpool, but they're less forceful and thus, some say, more relaxing. Air Jet or Water Jet Whirlpool Tub?So if you fancy having a forceful massage in your whirlpool tub, go for water jets. If you fancy the bubbling of a mountain stream, then go for the air jets. With air jets, you'll find anything from 12 to 70 openings dotted around the base of your tub depending on the make. With water jets the openings will be far fewer. Advantages that an air jet whirlpool tub can give you over a water jet, is that you can add bathtime favorites such as oils, bubbles and salts. These are an absolute no-no with water jets because they can clog the system. Even more important, with air jets no water can remain in the base of the tub to rot and mold. This has always been a huge drawback with water jet whirlpools; they do require vigorous cleaning and upkeep. No such disadvantages with the air jets though.
