Specialty Beds

Rather than purchasing a basic bed frame, box spring, and mattress, consider a specialty bed to breathe new life into your bedroom. Some beds offer practical solutions to problems such as limited space, while others are designed with only aesthetics in mind. If you share your bed with someone else, you should certainly make this purchase decision together as you will both be sleeping in the bed every night.

If you purchase a new mattress and box spring, you are likely to get a free bed frame included with your purchase. If you want to integrate your basic bed into the decorating scheme of your room, one option is to purchase a headboard and footboard. These are available in a variety of styles and materials, from brushed metal to rich dark woods.

If you want to make your bedroom a little more exotic, you might consider purchasing a canopy bed or a four post bed. These beds can create an air of grandeur in your room, making it a haven from the outside world. Resting beneath the canopy can make you feel as though you are visiting another place or time. Adding a soft mattress and some plush pillows can make your bed your favorite place in the house.

Specialty Beds for Children

There are specialty beds available for children as well as for adults. Children can find loft beds that are designed as castles or cottages, letting them live out different fantasies and play a variety of games. You can even find beds designed as race cars that your children may fall in love with. While you may have to replace such specialized beds when your children outgrow them, they can help encourage your children's imagination and may well be worth the replacement cost in a couple of years.
