Tempur-pedic pillows are manufactured by the same Swedish company that makes Tempur-pedic beds. Tempur-pedic is the trademark for the patented polyurethane technology that senses weight and body temperature, resulting in a material that adjusts itself accordingly to deliver the ultimate in support and comfort. This material maintains its structural integrity through continuous use, without deteriorating or compressing.

Many people consider support when shopping for mattresses, but not so much when it comes to pillows. This is an unfortunate mistake because the pillow is a crucial factor in good musculoskeletal support. Much is made of neck and shoulder tension, pinched nerves, and pulled muscles that can lead to tension headaches, fatigue, other spinal problems, and even problems in the extremities such as carpel tunnel syndrome.

Choosing Tempur-Pedic Pillows

Since you spend around one third of every day (and thus one third of your life) asleep, your pillow should be providing you the support you need to avoid these neck and shoulder maladies. Specifically, the pillow should be neither too big nor too small for your needs. It should only occupy enough space to fill the gap between your neck and the bed when you're lying down.

Anything more will force your head too high, causing strain on the neck. Anything less will leave a gap, and the neck unsupported. Tempur-pedic pillows are designed for the foam material to expand or compress in keeping with your weight and movements, keeping your head supported at all times so the neck never has to work. Tempur-pedic pillows come in a variety of sizes and styles to accommodate individual needs, including travel pillow styles.
