You can make frugal cleaning solutions at home, so when it's time for spring cleaning, you don't need to spend a lot of money. Instead of buying them at the supermarket, you can buy them at large retailers like Wal-Mart and K-Mart. Or, make them yourself at home. If you're not a do-it-yourself type of person, you can still find powerful home cleaning solutions in ultrasonic cleaners. These cleaners will remove dirt and mold from blinds, jewelry, golf clubs, and many other small household tools and items.

Types of Cleaners in Cleaning Solutions

If you're still willing to try the do-it-yourself cleaners, here are some tips. There are three different types of cleaning. One is with soap or detergent. One is with scouring powder. The third is disinfecting, or cleaning with antibacterial materials such as bleach or ammonia (never mix the two).

You don't need different cleaning solutions for every part of your house. For example, dish soap is concentrated. You can dilute it with water to mop floors, wash woodwork, or add a little bit of it to clean oily laundry. Now those are cleaning solutions!

For scrubbing, use baking soda or salt. Use it anywhere you would use a scouring powder, such as in sinks and tubs. Chlorine bleach and borax both whiten and disinfect. Use a cleaning solution of either one in the laundry, bathrooms, or kitchens. Ammonia is cheap and effective; one half cup in a gallon water will make your floors sparkle.
