Palm Ceiling Fans

Have you ever been to a tropical island and had some gorgeous native fan you with a palm frond while sipping your favorite beverage and swaying in a hammock? If you haven't, you may have imagined such a scenario or seen one like it in the movies. Who wouldn't want to be in such a lovely situation? Well, if you can't afford that, you might want to bring a little of it into your home with palm ceiling fans.

These are fans with blades that resemble palm fronds. They're great for outdoor areas especially. Perhaps you're that fabulous friend with a pool who always has awesome parties. If that's you, you might want to consider adding to the atmosphere with a fun palm ceiling fan. Most major ceiling fan manufacturers have a line of these kinds of fans.

Using Your Fan Outside

If you are going to be using this fan for outdoor purposes, make sure there is something written on the box about it being good for outdoor use. The last thing you want is to spend the money and take the time to hang the fan only to have it break down in a month or two. Your outdoor fan should be able to withstand the weather conditions of your area.

When looking for palm fans, you might also come across a listing of "tropical" fans. These will be in the same style, so you might want to look at them, too. If you happen to see that one company is selling what appears to be the same fan for much cheaper than another company, find out why there is such a price difference. It may be that the proportion of the motor to the blade is more accurate or one is quieter than the other.
