Corner Gel Fireplaces

Corner gel fireplaces are modern, ventless fireplaces that fit neatly into room corners and use alcohol-based gel fuels instead of wood, electricity or gas. These fireplaces come in an abundance of designs. You can choose from a variety of wood finishes such as mahogany, oak, maple and cherry; or wood designs finished to look like antique ivory. If you prefer a more basic, modern look, sleek monochromatic designs are also available.

Corner fireplaces that use gel fuel are clean burning and safe. The advantage of gel fuel is that, as it's made up merely of alcohol, salts and organic thickeners, it leaves no carbon residue when it burns. Carbon is one of the dirtiest and most problematic byproducts of wood and coal burning processes, filling the air with contaminants, leaving ash and soot on surrounding surfaces, and wreaking havoc with our lungs. It's also is one of the leading causes of global warming.

Corner Fireplace Technology

Corner fireplaces are a modern technological marvel. Since they burn clean, they require no ventilation system, working just as well in unventilated rooms. Since they leave only a water vapor, they pose absolutely no problem to your respiratory system or general health. Gel fuels can also come in special scents, such as incense or different fragrant woods, which is a nice touch. Especially popular during the warm-weather months is fuel gel containing citronella, a natural mosquito repellent.

Some people look at corner-fitting fireplaces and think, "Egads! What awful damage they must be doing to the floor and walls!" Though these fears are logical, the controlled nature of the fire produced by the fuel gel makes this impossible. The exterior shells of corner fireplaces cannot heat up, nor can they damage objects that come into direct contact with the shells, such as walls, floors, or even objects set directly on the mantel.
