Stove Top Fans

Wood or gas burning stoves can be a great way to heat a room or your entire home. Aside from being great to look at, they can be quite a bit cheaper than traditional gas or electric heat. The only problem with stoves is that the heat from the stove tends to immediately rise, which causes weird pockets of hot and cold across your room or house.

Solving the Heat Pocket Problem

The best way to move hot air around a room is with some sort of fan. The only problem with using a traditional electric fan in conjunction with your stove is that you have to turn it on and off all the time, which can be more of an annoyance than anything. In the past few years, however, a great product has hit the market that is designed specifically for spreading the heat from your stove.

Stove top fans are quiet, low-power fans that are made to be placed directly on top of your stove. The great thing about these fans is that they do not need batteries or plug-in electricity. They actually translate the heat coming off your stove into electricity to power the fan blade!

Aside from the obvious advantage of not having to replace batteries or plug the fan in, this self-powering design also causes the fan to turn on and off exactly when you want it to. Since it will only respond to a certain level of heat, the fan will shut off as soon as the stove does. Many of these fans can also be adjusted to turn on a certain temperature.
