Wall OvensWritten by Charles Peacock Building a new house comes with a lot of excitement, and a lot of headaches. There are so many little details to remember and so many decisions to make that sometimes you lose sight of the fact that you're going to have a wonderful new home within a few months. Luckily, some parts of the home building experience can be quite a lot of fun, in particular, designing your kitchen. Great Kitchens Start with an OvenThe centerpiece of any kitchen is always going to be your primary cooking appliance: the oven. There are basically two types of ovens out there: wall ovens and stove-top ovens. Both have their advantages, but I've always had a soft spot for wall ovens. In my opinion, the fact that you don't have to bend over to put things inside a wall oven makes it a much better choice. If you like to cook and use your oven quite regularly, having a wall oven can really be an advantage. Aside from the fact that you won't have to bend over all the time, wall ovens also allow you to keep an eye on what you're cooking. If you're baking a cake, for instance, you can leave the light on in the oven and easily keep an eye on it just by turning your head. Wall ovens also help you shift storage space downwards and out of the way. A cabinet that would normally contain pots and pans can be shifted to under your stove range. In addition, buying a separate stove and oven (as opposed to buying a single oven-stove unit) can give you the freedom to choose exactly the right models.
