Bombo Stools

Sleek, colorful, and more than a little whimsical, a group of Bombo stools looks like a garden of exotic flowers. Their flamboyant looks are more than matched by their practicality, since they are adjustable from high bar height (29.5") to low table height (19.6"). Designed by Stefano Giovannoni and manufactured by Magis, Bombo stools have quickly become contemporary classics.

The cup-shaped seat comes in a wide variety of colors, including orange, ultramarine, green, lilac and metallic silver. The ABS seat is colored throughout, so the colors can't peel or chip like painted surfaces. The height is adjusted by an ingenious gas-powered lever, and the frame is chromed steel. Though Bombo stools may seem rather expensive, their outstanding design and construction make them an excellent investment.

Stefano Giovannoni lives and works in Milan, where he designs items that are both witty and extremely usable. His "Pino" funnel, with its Pinocchio face, his opulent "Mami" cookware and his "Lilliput" salt and pepper shakers show his devotion to cartoons and science fiction. Owning a piece designed by Giovannoni is like owning a very friendly, cheerful pet. Be warned that once you start collecting Giovannoni pieces, you will quickly become addicted.

Bombo Stools Are Available Online
Fortunately, it isn't difficult to acquire Giovannoni's usable art. There are several sites featuring his work, especially the Bombo stools. Three of these colorful beauties lined up in front of a breakfast bar would almost eliminate the need for coffee in the morning!
