Modern Loveseats

The term "loveseat" has a charming old-fashioned ring to it, but modern loveseats come in sleek contemporary designs and materials. Chintz and ruffles have been replaced by brightly colored leathers and sophisticated, clean lines. In addition to their new look, modern loveseats are also being used in imaginative ways.

The classic sofa set of matching sofa, loveseat and chair looks rather passe these days. If all three pieces are used, they often differ in upholstery color and even in style. Just because your sofa is, say, a classic tuxedo style in black leather, that doesn't mean you can't pair it with reproductions of Eileen Gray's Bibendum chair and Mies van der Rohe's Barcelona loveseat.

Many people are opting not to use the traditional three pieces in traditional ways. If you have a fireplace or other strong focal point in your room, try two modern loveseats facing each other and perpendicular to it. Since loveseats are easier to move around than larger sofas, they can be rearranged for home theater seating. I've even seen loveseats used as benches in eat-in kitchens, where they make comfortable seating in a breakfast nook.

Find Modern Loveseats Online

Versatile loveseats come in an amazing array of colors and styles. Online shopping can help you view more choices in far less time and more conveniently than by browsing brick and mortar showrooms. Because online merchants don't have the high overhead of maintaining such showrooms, you can often find much better prices on the Web.
