Rustic End TablesWritten by Emily Ledbetter Mountain cabins tend to have a quaint, rustic vibe that many people, regardless of the location of their home, want to recreate. One way to create a warm, cozy cabin atmosphere in your home is by integrating log furniture and accent pieces into the décor. Some people choose to do a complete overhaul when incorporating a rustic look by replacing every piece of existing furniture with its log counterpart. Log bed, futon, coffee table, chairs, dining table, armoire. . .the list goes on and on! For those people looking to add a bit of mountain charm to their house but who do not have the budget or desire for a complete overhaul, smaller pieces of furniture along with themed accent items can do the trick! End tables crafted from aspen, skip-peeled or turned lodge pole wood added to the existing décor can result in a rustic feel in any living room or den. Whether you prefer a matching set or an eclectic mix, rustic end tables provide both a decorative element and function to a room. End tables are commonly incorporated into a room on either or both ends of a couch, chair or love seat. Lamps are often placed on end tables as a source of lighting for people sitting on the adjacent pieces of furniture. Rustic end tables can also be used as a spot to set a drink or plate, a display surface for photos, candles and other accent pieces and an area for books and magazines. Variety in Size and StyleThere are a number of log end table selections currently on the market but if you can't find one to match your needs, you also have the option of custom-made tables. End tables can be designed with drawers for added storage in the living room or as a simple four legs and a top design without any drawers. They come in a variety of heights and can be outfitted with wooden knobs to match the wood used in construction or with decorative accent pieces that can add even more rustic charm to the piece.
