One of the most important things to have on hand for a variety of different emergency situations is a flashlight or other portable light source. Proper lighting not only helps you find your way in the night, but it also helps to deter crime. One of the first things people think about when they’re faced with emergency situations is finding light.

If you’re someone who prides himself in being prepared for any situation, you probably already know how important it is to have lighting devices at your disposal. Some of the best places to store emergency lights include the glove box or trunk of your vehicle, the closet at the front entrance of your home, and in your luggage or backpack when hiking, camping or participating in outdoor activities. Storing lights in these locations helps to ensure that they’re always on hand when you need them.

Lighting You Can Count On Every Time

One of the best types of lighting for emergency situations is a LED light. LED lights are more durable than standard incandescent lights, making them ideal for emergency situations. In the past I used to store flashlights around my home and in my car. These devices gave me a level of comfort, but they simply didn’t perform when I needed them most.

Rather than worrying about the dead batteries or burnt out bulbs, you can use a LED light for years on end. Some LED lights are designed to last for up to 20 years of consistent use. Try finding a flashlight or other light source that can make that kind of claim. The last thing you need when dealing with an emergency is to find out that you invested in the wrong kind of emergency lighting.
